Hi! My name is Dave Dinsmore, I'm an Artist living in northeastern Ohio [between Akron and Cleveland] My degree is from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

My Illustration experience includes: comic books and storyboards

I also have done background art for animation freelance work and personal projects

I specialize in realistic/industrial decay and sci-fi cinematic 2d environment art

80's cartoons & manga have always been a huge source of inspiration for me. I strive to reflect these styles and principals in my work.

I was with the team responsible for digital pre-press production and in house illustration. Steel City mailboxes still uses the packaging we designed then, today.

Scribbles is just that kind of place where they have paper bag paper covering the tables and encourage people to draw on it! Plus great coffee! and I could walk there! Oh and an awesome rotation of artists on the walls year round.

Stories for the Night Watch

Horror Comic series


Being in love with EC comics, I wanted to make a book inspired by classic horror comics. Three are complete with new ones added all the time! Comics are like painting as it is something I will probably do the rest of my life just because I love it so much.

Hive Mind

'Kahr-Toon Ik-sEn-trik' A 15-piece art show featuring the classics re-imagined as cartoon characters as well as other cartoon/comic book inspired paintings and tattoo imagery. The final show at Akron's legendary Hivemind

2019 - 2020

Chronic Cats

Personal animation project

My friend and I made up a show about two stoner musician cats who go around smoking and jamming with people, antics ensue.. I developed the characters and animated appx 20 minutes of footage for this project. I also did all the rigging and background art.

2020 - 2021

Aimless Ed

Freelance Animator

Employed by Koper Heavy Industries to animate their spec animation short 'Aimless Ed' where the character gets prompts from an online audience for things that happen in the show.

I was on Ethan's Discord channel and somebody asked if I wanted to join their group. They needed some storyboards so thats where I jumped in, and we were working on the look of Gepetto's workshop

Monstroween 2022

Dave Hartman is an awesome artist with an awesome hashtag. This was my second year following it, and let me say it was quite a challenge to hit ALL 31 days with good art. I Learned a lot about deadlines and consistency from this project.
